Community & Landscaping Updates

Focus on Sustainability

The native grasses and plants in Kinston are part of the broader Centerra vision, developing our communities with a sustainable, Colorado-focused landscape. They are beneficial for their water efficiency, habitat benefits, and alignment with Colorado Senate Bill 24-005, which limits “non-functional” turf.

Maintenance Reminder

Residents are encouraged not to interfere with landscaping maintenance. Professional crews handle weekly visits and inspections to ensure successful native grass establishment. Native grasses and plants take 2 – 3 years to establish and be positioned to fully flourish thereafter, and these teams are ensuring these landscapes thrive.

Education Resources

Please visit the High Plains Environmental Center, or contact Jim Tolstrup (jim@suburbitat.org) for more information on native grasses and plants.
