Mountain Cowboy’s liquor license has been updated to make it more convenient for residents to enjoy beverages anywhere in the Hub. With this change comes a few updates to the Hub’s alcohol policy. It’s important for everyone to understand the new policy so MC can maintain its license and continue to serve your favorite adult beverages.
Here are the alcohol dos and don’ts at the Hub:
- MC beverages OK anywhere on Hub property
When you purchase a drink from Mountain Cowboy, you may drink it anywhere at the Hub, including the Gathering Room, Welcome Center (the area around the indoor fireplace by MC), and all patios. - No alcohol on the lawn or surrounding area
Technically, once you step off the Hub patios, you’re on Kinston Metro District property — where alcohol is not permitted without a special permit. So when you want to enjoy your drink outside, stay on a patio. - Only MC alcohol allowed
All alcohol in the Hub and on the patios must come from Mountain Cowboy. No outside alcohol is permitted. So when you host a private event in the Gathering Room or other Hub location and you’re serving alcohol, you must purchase that alcohol from Mountain Cowboy. (Order from them directly.) - Outside food & non-alcoholic drinks OK in Gathering Room
MC’s license only applies to alcohol. When you host a private event at the Hub, you do not have to purchase food and non-alcoholic beverages from them. You may bring in outside catering, juices, sodas, etc
