Design Review

What is design review? Why does it matter?

Design review is a collaborative process between a resident and the Design Review Board. Although a planned modification may be congruent with Kinston’s design standards, residents must always obtain approval from the Design Review Board prior to beginning a modification project.

The Design Review Board meets regularly to expedite processing of requests. You should wait to schedule vendors until after you receive written approval for your modification.

If you have questions about the guidelines or the application process, please contact your Kinston Community Life Team.

Application process

The Design Review Board meets regularly. The committee may have up to 60 days from the date a completed application is submitted to review and provide a written response.
